We would rather support a few organisations well than spread ourselves thin. Each partnership starts with a conversation and is meant to last. Below are the organisations we support and why.
Mittagundi Outdoor Education
Mittagundi is an outdoor education centre and working farm in Victoria's high country, where young people aged 14 to 17 leave devices behind to bushwalk, raft, abseil and help run the land together. It offers hands-on education in the bush and on country. Peter rode horses in this same high country, which gives the partnership a personal connection for the family.
Mountain Track
Mountain Track is a community-led youth development program in Gippsland that supports young people doing it tough, for as long as they need. Through hands-on mechanics and excavator training, mentoring and steady support, it helps them into work. We value its long-term relationships over short programs.
Scarf Community
Scarf runs hands-on hospitality and job-readiness programs in Melbourne for young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds who face barriers to employment. Trainees get real industry experience at Scarf Dinners, with mentoring and wellbeing support along the way. It is practical education with a clear path to employment.
For Change Co.
For Change Co. uses hospitality to tackle youth homelessness, giving young people at risk paid, hands-on training in customer service and food preparation. Its Pathways for Change program pairs award-wage work with housing support, confidence-building, and community connections that help break the cycle of homelessness. We support their belief that a paid first job can set a young person on a better path.
About Time
About Time is Australia's national newspaper for people in prison, written with and for incarcerated people and their families. It carries news, learning, expression and creative work into prisons across the country. We support it because education should reach people wherever they are.
The Funding Network
The Funding Network brings everyday Australians, business and philanthropy together to back grassroots non-profits through live collective-giving events. Its model extends what we can do by rallying donors behind early-stage organisations at live giving events. Unlike our other partners, TFN funds rather than delivers programs directly.
